The whole country has been suffering from severe heat for several days. Heat alerts are being issued in different regions, one after the other. This time, the Meteorological Office has issued a heat alert in four categories. This information was given in the warning signed by meteorologist AKM Nazmul Haque on Friday (May 17) afternoon.
It is said that the heat wave is flowing over the Rangpur, Rajshahi, and Khulna divisions, along with the western parts of the Dhaka division. This situation may continue for the next 48 hours, starting at 6 p.m. on Friday. Uncomfortable conditions may persist due to excess water vapour.
Earlier last Wednesday (May 15) evening, a 48-hour heat alert was issued in Rajshahi, Rangpur, Dhaka, Khulna, and Barisal divisions. Apart from this, heat alerts were issued several times last April due to severe heat waves.
Meanwhile, another weather report said that until Saturday morning (May 18), two places in the Sylhet division may experience temporary rain with gusty wind or rain with thunder. Along with this, there may be scattered hailstorms in some places. Apart from this, there may be rain in many parts of the country throughout the week. It can reduce the temperature.
