Heavy Rainfall Alert: Met Office Issues Warning for Several Divisions

The Meteorological Office has issued a warning for intense to extremely intense precipitation in multiple divisions of the country commencing from Friday morning. The regions that have been impacted are Rangpur, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Sylhet, Barisal, and Chittagong. Precipitation is forecasted to persist for the subsequent 72 hours.

Warning: Landslip Advisory for Mountainous Regions
Residents living in the mountainous areas of Chittagong, Rangamati, Khagrachari, Cox’s Bazar, and Bandarban are warned to exercise caution, as there is a substantial likelihood of landslides occurring as a result of the heavy rains.

Forecast for the next 72 hours
Starting at 9 am on Friday, the entire country may see rain or thundershowers along with intermittent strong gusts. Certain regions may encounter significant precipitation, resulting in a dip of 1-2 degrees Celsius in daytime temperatures and a minor reduction in nighttime temperatures. This will bring some relief from the recent heat.

The Meteorological Office forecasts that rain or thundershowers will continue for the next five days.

Latest Temperature and Rainfall Data
The hottest temperature in the past 24 hours until 9 am on Friday was recorded in Chuadanga, reaching 37.5 degrees Celsius.


Dhaka Temperature: The temperature in Dhaka reached a maximum of 34.2 degrees Celsius.


The amount of rainfall recorded in different areas is as follows: Tentulia in Panchagarh received 51 mm of rain, Netrakona received 50 mm, and Sylhet received 32 mm. Additionally, different regions have encountered diverse amounts of precipitation.
