As part of the annual tradition, all forms of banking transactions will be closed on Monday, July 1st. This closure extends to the Dhaka Stock Exchange and the Chittagong Stock Exchange, though both exchanges will remain open for office work.
Banks will be conducting their half-yearly financial accounting on June 30th, consolidating accounts from various branches nationwide. July 1st is observed as a bank holiday to facilitate this process. Another such bank holiday occurs on December 31st each year, to finalize the year’s financial accounts.
Despite the closure for transactions, the main offices of all banks, including Bangladesh Bank, will remain open. Regular banking operations will resume on Tuesday, with Bangladesh Bank following the same schedule as commercial banks.
