Bangladesh is grappling with severe flooding caused by relentless heavy rainfall, prompting widespread rescue operations across the nation. The combined efforts of the Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Navy, and the Fire Service and Civil Defence Stations are currently in full swing to save lives and relocate flood-affected individuals to safer locations.
In the Feni district, the Bangladesh Army has been deployed in the Parshuram and Phulgazi areas, where the flooding has hit particularly hard. Utilizing speedboats and helicopters, the army is working tirelessly to rescue stranded individuals and provide immediate relief. The Army’s presence is crucial in these areas, where the floodwaters have risen to dangerous levels, cutting off many communities from essential services and supplies.
Simultaneously, the Bangladesh Navy, under the direct supervision of the navy chief, has responded to what is being described as the worst flooding in Feni in recent memory. A specialized contingent has been dispatched to the affected areas, with navy personnel actively relocating people trapped by the rising waters. Equipped with boats, the Navy is navigating through submerged regions, ensuring that those most in need are brought to safety. Moreover, the Navy has deployed diving teams to safeguard both people and property in these perilous conditions.
Adding to these efforts, the Navy’s medical teams are on the ground providing emergency healthcare services. These teams are administering life-saving medicines, distributing saline, and offering free medical services to those in urgent need. Their presence is vital in mitigating the health risks associated with prolonged exposure to floodwaters.
In the Cumilla district, the Fire Service and Civil Defence Station at Chowara Bazar has been instrumental in rescuing flood-affected individuals. The team successfully relocated numerous people to safe areas today. Similarly, in Maijdee, the Fire Service, in coordination with the Red Crescent, is actively rescuing families whose homes have been submerged by floodwaters.
As Bangladesh continues to battle these extreme weather conditions, the collaborative efforts of the Army, Navy, and Fire Service underscore the nation’s resilience and commitment to protecting its people in times of crisis.
