Real Change for Bangladesh: Insights from Professor Parvez

Bangladesh has experienced a seismic change. Call it regime change, revolution, or a people’s movement led by students, citizens, and soldiers—the reality remains: AL has fallen, and Sheikh Hasina has fled. AL loyalists may cry ‘unconstitutional,’ but many believe her consecutive terms were secured through manipulated elections.

Our constitution has been altered time and again, each change serving political interests rather than the needs of the suffering masses. None of these amendments were for the people’s true welfare.

I speak from my journey. I am not aligned with any political dogma. For over 35 years, I have worked with and for the suffering masses, always pro-poor. Today, I feel deep sadness seeing all players kicking the political ball purely for self-gain. A faction of BNP seeks quick elections—not to serve the people, but to secure power, exploit businesses, and settle scores against AL.

This constitution, in its current form, fails to guarantee a fair share of national wealth, jobs, or quality of life for the working class. It’s time for a true change—a constitution that champions the rights of the poor, the workers, and the struggling people of Bangladesh.

Let’s demand a system that genuinely serves us all.
