80 people died in Bihar due to the heat wave

In the last three days since Saturday, more than 30 people in the Indian state of Bihar have died due to a severe heat wave. In Aurangabad district, a maximum of 19 people died. Last Thursday, the temperature rose to 48.2 degrees Celsius.https://greentime.news/

An official of the Disaster Management Department said eight people died in the ongoing heat wave in Arwal, Buxar, Rohtas and Begusarai districts. In Bhojpur, nine people died, including five people involved in election work. A Communist Party leader also died there. Eight people including one soldier died in Jahanabad. Six people including a teacher died in Kaimur district. Three people died in Gaya. Two each died in Sheikhpur and Munger. Two others died of heatstroke at a railway station and an agricultural officer died while undergoing treatment at a hospital.

Apart from this, deaths due to heat wave were also reported from Gopalganj, Jamui, Lakshmisrai and East Champaran districts. Hospitals in various districts have admitted over three hundred people. About 200 people have received treatment at the Aurangabad district headquarters hospital.
